Beautiful Sunday, Saint Valentines-Eve!

Hey everyone, how's your Sunday going? Hopefully as good as it can be and if not I've got some tasty things to brighten your day up!
My good friends La Folle released a track off their upcoming album. So I sit here waiting for my green tea to cool and decide I should give them a nice write up on the blog.
For starters, La Folle is four piece based out of Oklahoma City. I would take the time to describe their music but, I feel my words wouldn't do them the justice they deserve. That being said let me link their older stuff so opinions can start baking in your brains. See you back here in a second ;)!

Pretty yummy demo was it not? Glad to know you enjoyed it! So now that brings us to their new track, Black Light. It's a good track and I'm hoping the rest of the album turns out as good as this preview. Here's the track then there's a fun story to be told about its' recording.

What's the story, well I was there when this track was laid down.. I've been around the interwebz block long enough to know pics or it didn't happen, WEEEELLLPP!

Taken by the guitarist, it's quite a nice picture if I do say so myself. It was a good time and you could really see how much effort they put into each take, so what I'm sayin' is check them out, enjoy and write them an e-mail telling them to put Shawnzzy's favorite song back up, the termite king demands it!

In other musical exploits this week, a friend of mine showed me some of the most raw rap I've heard in a bit.

Heavy non? The group is called OFWGKTA, at the top of their tumblr page you can download their albums and you can also grab some mixtapes here.

That should keep your heads bobbin' for a bit. Enjoy! Hey, if you like the blog you should follow us here on blog spot and on twitter @ileftmymusic hope to see ya soon!

Ha Ha DJ Professor K in the House (Jet Set Radio)

Growing up there are a handful of things that shape us. From relationships to media, there isn't a single thing that you do that doesn't change that little bit. Looking back on my young life there's a lot of stuff that comes to mind, but tonight I'm going to share something that changed me as a music listener forever.Jet Grind Radio (or Jet Set Radio in Japan), a Dreamcast and later Xbox game that guided me on my path as a music listener.
What we have here is a classic, one of the best sound tracks for a game, and personally one of my favorite games ever! In honor of the past and the inevitability of change I'd like to share this mix of songs that not only remind me of my childhood, but also where I started when I started digging deeper into music.
Hope you enjoy!

新年快樂 ♥

Today is the last day of holiday week in China or East Asia (or wherever). I'd like to dedicate this blog to all fellow sessy AzNs and those who endorse these events!

With this post I'd like to share music from my cultural background and other east Asian nationalities. This song in particular (which has bit of a more limited access) is one I'd like to introduce separately, as I do have some history behind it also.

When I was a wee little one (around 11 years old), my parents handed down a cassette of Vietnamese songs sung by Thái Hiền when she was probably around the same age as I was when I started listening to her. All the songs were recorded sometime before 1975 and written by her father, Phạm Duy. Phạm Duy is one of the most notable song-writers during the Vietnam War period. This collection of songs sung by his young daughter are about coming of age and various children's themes (magic & myth, going to school and just lovin' life, man). I used to listen to this tape every night before I slept ♥

Tuổi Hồng by Thái Hiền (1974)

And here is a full tracklist! Songs are selected by yours truly, Shawnzzy, and my ol' buddy Blaine!

2011 is year of the rabbit teehee

Ahh, the glamorous singer/DJ, Mademoiselle Yulia (they say she is like the Japanese counterpart of Lady Gaga). Anyway, she was part of the lineup in Countdown Seoul 2011 along with Ed Banger buddies Busy P and DJ Mehdi (why did I have to miss it? *tear*). She can DJ at my party anyday..

Here be the highlights of downtown Seoul's New Year celebration (Gregorian/"civil" calendar).

I have no idea who this is or what the song's about, but it's a neat vocaloid track..

....and this is how adolescent lovers should greet each other
